This morning a highly publicized post from a top Designer at Google (http://stopdesign.com/archive/2009/03/20/goodbye-google.html) illustrated some details about the culture of Google and their analytical dependence on data. I was curious to see if the issue was as significant as John Battelle mentioned on his blog. A quick review of employee postings on GlassDoor.com certainly ended any debate. Here are some of the first headlines from employee reviews;
“Honeymoon period gets over in first two years.â€
“Google is deteriorating at the edgesâ€
“Great place when you are starting out.â€
“It could be frustrating after two years.â€
“Kind of like Microsoft in the late 1980’s.â€
Those are five posts from the first six.
I’m also curious where Google employees will turn, given this economy and lack of another huge web co (how many can Facebook and Twitter hire?).
