Welcome!

Well everyone, it's that time of the year again. Last year was so much fun, it's now time to plan the 2nd Annual Trip to Maine. I'm looking at either the weekend of the 10-12th of August, or 17th-19th of August.

I know everyone who went last year has wanted to repeat it again, and I've talked to Liz, and she's up for doing it again too.... SO let the planning begin! If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I'm assuming that most of the veteran's from last year are coming [pictures].

Changes from last year:

First off, our house has been leveled to make way for bigger and "better" things. We are in the process of building a new house. At the moment, the house is not finished. However, there is also a garage with a finished appartment we can take over for a bit. Last year, it didn't seem like we spent much time in the house at all, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

I also "fixed" the directions. I left off a crutial turn onto my road, although Will seemed to be the only one this really affected (he had to pick up a couple hitchikers for directions, but they asked to get out since he had the heat running high since his car - the 87 Toyota Landcruiser - was overheating.)

Everthing else, still the same!

History:

The three of us (Jon, Liz, and I) spent every summer up in Maine, but in 2001 realized we had yet to have some parties - Liz and I realized this after a solid night of drinking.  We decided to get in touch with Jon, and each invite a bunch of friends up with the intention of getting a badass party going.  All three of us live near each other, and right on the water.  We have a couple boats that we can use, too.  My house sleeps 9 or 10 "comfortably" so we might need to improvise - i.e. bring sleeping bags and tents if you have them (this house has since been leveled making way for a new scenario).  If you don't want beer, I recommend stopping at the NH State Liquor Store, which you'll pass at some point.    Unfortunately, I can't have an "open" invite policy, so please just check with me and PLEASE RSVP as soon as possible.  I need to know whether you can come or not.  If you're undecided, just let me know.  I will probably head up a day or two before with anyone who can go.  The sooner I hear from you guys, the sooner I can let you know who's driving so we don't end up with 80 cars or stranded kids.  Check back on this page, I'll update it whenever I get new info.

Sales Pitch:

After last year, I dont really think I need a sales pitch any longer, but just for the newcomers... Bottom line: Maine rocks.  Once we get up there, we'll never really use the cars again - everything can be accomplished by boat or just by drinking a lot.

I'm hoping everyone can get there by 4:00 or 5:00 pm on Friday (everyone say 'Half-day!").  I know it  isn't possible for many of you to get a half day or the day off, but  I would like to take the boat to East Boothbay Friday evening for seafood, which requires a bit of an early leave since we need to be back before dark at 8:00ish.  So if you can't make it before 5:30ish, we'll be back around 8.  We'll assume you won't have to do much catching up.  I'll leave the door open, etc.

Saturday night I'm hoping to take the boat to Liz's for a BBQ with people, and then head back to my house to party (this will be a last minute decision, most likely).  I'm not too worried about finding good shit to do.

During the day, I'm planning on sleeping in, recovering from a hangover, going for a ride (we'll go hard one day, easy the next) and fucking around in the boats - fishing or a booze cruise if people want to, otherwise, going kamikaze-style offshore.  You obviously don't need to come bike, you can just hang out on the dock/beach, etc.

I don't really want to post the directions on the internet, so email me at MSolar9475@aol.com for them.  It's about a 3 hour drive +/- 15 minutes.  Try your best not to leave at rush hour.  For those who like speeding, I would wait until getting a little ways into Maine, then feel free to open it up - just do NOT drive like an asshole on my road.
